Music from the Holocaust: Telling the Story Beyond Words

April 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

“Music from the Holocaust: Telling the Story Beyond Words,” is an interactive exploration and performance of the music of two Jewish composers, Gideon Klein and Hans Krása, who were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust. The musical selections for this event were created within the Terezín concentration camp. The evening’s performance will be delivered by a chamber music trio, led by violinist and music educator Sharon Roffman, as part of the “Music as Media” series at Columbia Journalism.

This event is co-sponsored by Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics; The Scripps Howard Program in Religion, Journalism, and the Spiritual Life; The Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma; Religion News Association; Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies; Seminar on Death; and the Institute for Religion, Culture and Public Life.
